Light Brigade Releases Re-Engineered Fiber Optics 1-2-3 Course

(Kent, WA) – Oct. 26, 2021 - Light Brigade the leader in fiber optic skills training will debut their re-engineered Fiber Optics 1-2-3 course Nov. 30–Dec. 4, 2021 in Fairbanks, AK, Savannah, GA, and Tallahassee, FL. Designed for anyone who needs to learn fundamental hands-on skills, Fiber Optics 1-2-3 is Light Brigade’s most popular class.

“With the insatiable need for fiber deployment and the growing skills gap, we felt it was imperative to launch this course now”, said Light Brigade President, Martin Lee. “Light Brigade has always been at the forefront of fiber technology and partnering with our parent company, Hexatronic, we are positioned to provide training on cutting-edge technologies and equipment.”

The four-day hands-on course has been significantly updated and redesigned. Revised course content includes:

  • Latest technology trends like end face geometry and air-blown fiber.

  • Expanded training content on connectors.

  • Current splicing techniques and equipment.

  • Updated instruction on installation testing and troubleshooting.

Enhancements have also been made to the classroom experience. Students will receive a pre-packaged personal strip tool and shear to take with them at the end of class. Visual learners will appreciate the expanded graphics that provide an in-depth explanation of concepts. Those with a competitive spirit will enjoy the engaging chapter reviews using the Kahoot!® gamification and study tool.

Digital web-based badges will be provided after successful completion of the re-engineered course via our partner, Credly. Students can share their accomplishments visually on social media, web pages, and in signature lines. The digital badge will contain metadata that describes their accreditation and the process required to earn it.

Upon completion of the course, students are prepared to sit for the ETA Fiber Optics Installer (FOI) certification. An ETA accreditation validates the credentials of the holder and is designed for those working with both multimode and single-mode fibers. Accreditation is an asset for both the student and their employer.

Upcoming re-engineered Fiber Optics 1-2-3 courses will be held in St. Louis, MO, Orlando, FL, Dallas, TX, and Seattle, WA.
