January 21, 2011 — The Light Brigade is pleased to announce that it will host the new two-day Certified Fiber-to-the-Home Professional (CFHP) certification program in conjunction with the upcoming OFC/NFOEC conference, held from March 6-10, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. The two-day CFHP course will be held on March 10-11, allowing program attendees the opportunity to visit the OFC/NFOEC exhibition floor and access such features as the FTTx pavilion and visit more than 500 exhibiting companies. CFHP requires a paid registration; OFC/NFOEC exhibition passes are free with required registration.

The CFHP program is the only curriculum and examination program specifically designed to determine and certify professional competence in FTTH architecture, network design, deployment technology, and operational skills. It addresses job training skills for those who are interested in making the jump from legacy technologies to the FTTH technologies of today and the future. For those new to FTTH, it will provide a solid foundation on which to build towards FTTH network design, planning, and management responsibilities. For experienced FTTH professionals, it will ensure familiarity with the most current information and expand knowledge beyond today’s areas of specialization.

OFC/NFOEC is the premier international event for both the science and business of optical communications and networking. With a comprehensive technical program and the largest all-optical business exhibition, OFC/NFOEC creates and maintains a strong link between technical excellence and business practice.
